After competing at the Arnold in March, my training was on serious cruise control. I was getting in and getting my workouts done but I didn’t have any real meets in sight. In the last two weeks that all changed when I decided to compete this November at a local meet. I’m excited to be competing in my neighborhood especially since my family and friends get to come out and see me work.
Even though training kind of took a back seat this offseason, I’ve still been busy. This summer I decided to organize and host my first powerlifting meet, which was a huge success. We had over 100 lifters, the meet ran smoothly and I’m excited to host more in the future. In addition to this, I was promoted at work, which meant more responsibilities and a new schedule to get accustomed to while still finding time to get my workouts in.
The meet I’m competing in November will be done raw, which I haven’t done since 2009. My nine-week cycle will be done completely raw, and then I’ll jump right back into my equipment and start getting ready for the 2016 Arnold. I’m debating on competing both in the equipped full meet and also the pro deadlift event, which would be a first for me.
As my training starts to get more competition focused I’m making sure I’m getting the right supplements to aid in my strength, stamina and recovery. Along with my supplements from 1st Phorm, PEAK ATP and BetaTOR will definitely be included. Going into any training cycle these remain a staple as they impact my training and provide me with a huge boost.
